Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
Stir in the pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella over the sauce.
Arrange the tater tots in an even layer over the cheese.
Top with the remaining mozzarella, then add the mini pepperoni. Sprinkle with additional Italian seasoning if desired.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tater tots are golden.
