Since the main topic here is rainbows, what exactly IS a rainbow anyway?

A rainbow is actually an optical illusion, which means it doesn’t really exist in the sky even though we can clearly see it!

It’s a color spectrum that is created when light shines through water droplets in the sky. Rainbows can be seen any time it rains and the sun is shining.

Did you know you can also create your own rainbow by using your water hose on the fine mist setting if it’s a sunny day?

Fun fact: The colors of a rainbow always appear in the same order.

Here are the 7 colors of rainbows in order:
